Headlines from the AGM plus election of captains and 2016 awards

The club AGM was held on Saturday 14th January. Many club issues were discussed and here are a few of the highlights:

  • The direction and objectives of the senior sides was debated, and it was agreed that a follow up meeting is necessary for all players to discuss. Look out for the date of the meeting, probably sometime in March.
  • The committee has vacancies for a chairman of cricket and a social secretary. If you are interested in fulfilling one of these roles then please contact a committee member for further details.
  • It was reported that the bar returns have been very poor for the past couple of seasons. The reason for this is that we have not had a bar manager for this period and as a consequence the bar remains closed at critical times when it should be making money. The club would like to thank John Moffit (for looking after the stock), John Whitworth (for looking after the finances) and Peter Brocklehurst (for opening up as often as he can) otherwise the returns would have been even worse!! The club are looking for a bar manager or someone to manage a rota of members to open the bar at key times of peak demand. If you are interested then please contact John Whitworth or Peter Brocklehurst.
