King Louis starts aggressively
but U14s lose season opener
Another chilly summer! evening saw the U14s take to the field for the first time this season. Marlow Park won the toss, elected to bat and their skipper raced to 50 including 7 boundaries and 2 maximums. Then his fellow opener took over and also got to 50 before retiring. 2 wickets from Shan Patel and one from Louis Ertl (well caught by Henry James behind the stumps) brought some control to the innings but excellent batting and too many extras saw Marlow Park amass 183-3 from their 20 overs.
At the top of the Chenies order Louis Ertl played with aggression, hitting 11 boundaries and retiring on 53. Unfortunately no-one else could protect their wicket and our 2nd highest scorer was Harvey Lewis with 9 not out. Chenies were all out in the 19th over for 126.
