Raj Brar, coach of our all conquering U9 and U10 teams has been awarded the title of Bucks Coach of the Year. The citation reads: "Raj has proactively encouraged kids from surrounding schools to take up cricket and this has been so successful that he was able to field two U9 teams (the Lions and the Tigers) for the 2019 season. He has complemented this with an excellent training schedule – including organising winter coaching on his own initiative - which equipped the children with the skills to play at this level.
Raj has been an inspiration for younger coaches, always finding the time to give advice and impart his knowledge. He has stood up and taken responsibility for organising the team, the matches, the tournaments and winter net practise. He communicates well, gives and takes advisc, and is very encouraging to all the boys. He has built an excellent squad of boys who now love the game of cricket. Raj is very approachable, honest, and respectful, the children find Raj’s coaching very rewarding and he teaches them to understand the spirit of the game."

The results of Raj's efforts have been fantastic - the U9 Lions were crowned county champions, the U9 Tigers won the South East league and the U10 All Stars were runners up in the South East league (despite most of the All Stars being a year younger than the opposition).
