Welcome to this week’s summary of all the news from around the club over the past 7 days.

Just the one match to report; The Sunday XI managed to complete a late season fixture at Chesham CC against Ebury Strollers. The game was shortened to 30 overs per innings due to heavy showers through the afternoon. The Strollers elected to bat first and showed aggressive intent from the outset. They raced along to an imposing total of 206 for 9 from 30 overs. Mark Rogers emerged with 3 wickets for 46 and there were 2 wickets apiece for Shan Patel, Ben Cross and Brian Shipley. Special mention to Luke Marsden who took an excellent running catch at deep mid-off. In reply Chenies opened with Alex Martin and Mike Pickard who put on 80 in 14 overs. Alex went on to get 51 and Mike Pickard was bowled on 27. The strength of the Strollers bowling then took its toll and we lost 5 quick wickets before John Moffit (16) and Brian Shipley steadied the ship. We ended on a decent score of 153 for 7 after 30 overs. Brian was 32 not out at the close hitting 20 in the final over - stirring stuff!
Next week we are intending to arrange a friendly fixture away on either Saturday or Sunday.
