A message from John Campbell

As previously advised, Colts Day will take place on Sunday 8th September with the Colts section taking over the club for the day, allowing us to arrange various events including the lads(& ladies) v dads( & mums) matches and the presentation of the end of season awards.
Whilst precise timings and schedule have still to be finalised, this will be confirmed in due course, below is an indicative schedule of events and timings for the day.

1200hrs – Reception, U6, U7 & U8 Colts v Parents matches to be played concurrently. A number of wickets will be “cut” for the matches.

1330hrs – End of season awards including the presentation of participation medals to all Colts

1415hrs - U9, U10 & UII Colts v Parents matches to be played concurrently

1600hrs - Girls v Parents match

As usual there will be a BBQ, tea & cakes and the bar will be open. We also intend having other activities for the colts to be confirmed.

With regard to cakes, based on numbers attending in previous years, it would be too much to expect Julie and Siobhan to make sufficient cakes for the event and can I therefore request that some parents bring along a cake, home made or otherwise, on the day.

To ensure that the day runs smoothly it is most important that we have a good indication of how many will be attending and to that end can you please respond either to me or your age group manager no later than 3rd September with the following information:

• Confirm if you are attending with numbers so that we know how many we need to cater for.
• Parents please confirm if you intend to take part in the matches so we can decide on the best format for the games. Parents, I seem to recall that you lost at every age group last year so here's a chance for revenge!

• Advise if you intend bringing a cake along.

I hope that the majority of you will be able to attend the day (or at least some part of it) which has been a great success in previous years and what better way to see out the summer with a day of cricket, fun and relaxation in the magnificent surroundings of your Club in the company of our wonderful Colts section.
Any queries please get back to me.
Regards,
John (campbell.jaag28@ntlworld.com)
