As our club grows, the burden of managing and administrating grows and we therefore require more people to get involved. If you can help by getting involved in any of the roles described below, please speak to the person specified or any member of the committee.
1. Play Cricket Administrator – this is a role that can be spread among several people to ease the burden. We currently have 2 people who have volunteered so why not add your name to the list
2. CWO – we are in the unfortunate position where both of our Club Welfare Officers are standing down. This role is vital to the continued operation of the club, and we are therefore looking for volunteers to step into this role. Ideally we would like at least 2 people in the role. Training is available and takes place in January so please do contact John Campbell (campbell.jaag28@ntlworld.com) as soon as possible if you are interested.
3. Sponsorship Manager. Sponsorship is a revenue driver that has been largely untapped by the club. We are looking for one or more people to take on the task of raising much needed funds via sponsorship. Please contact Dave Brown (dave@homebrown.co.uk) if you are able to help.
4. Bar manager – Stock management, stock acquisition. Please speak to John Moffit (john.moffit2@gmail.com) if you’d like to get involved in running the bar.
5. Help with marketing, website and communications. Communicating with our membership and the wider community is an increasingly vital part of running and growing our club. Our website is our ‘shop window’ to members and potential members and keeping the content up to date and dynamic is critical. If you could help then please get in touch with Dave Brown (dave@homebrown.co.uk)
6. Sunday morning tea, coffee & cakes – For the past couple of years Emily Brown has baked cakes and served teas and coffees on Sunday mornings (ably assisted by her mother). Now that Emily is away at university, she is looking to pass the baton on. The selling of teas, coffee and cakes generates a wonderful atmosphere at the club on Sunday mornings and we would like to see it continue. (A great way to achieve the volunteering element of DofE)
7. Coaches / administrators. We have vacancies for coaches / managers in the colts age groups listed below for the 2024 season. These are the younger age groups where there are no matches to administer so is an ideal way to get involved with colts cricket. Please contact John Campbell (campbell.jaag28@ntlworld.com)
