U7 Season Summary

Dave Brown22 Sep 2021 - 10:24

A successful season for the U7s

This season was the first time the U7’s have got to play matches and it looked like they had been playing for years! We managed to play 10 matches throughout the season against teams such as Gerrards Cross, Bledlow Village, Beaconsfield, Rickmansworth and Chorleywood. We managed to win nine and lost one.

There were a number of standout performances throughout the season.
Some notable batting performances were:-
Ben – 28 (off 16 balls), 12, 11 and 9
Noah – 24 (off 15 balls and 1 x 6)
Tom – 21 (off 13 balls), 12 (scored by hitting 2 sixes), 12 and 9
Gus – 20 (off 9 balls), 11, 10 and 9
Freddie – 18 (off 14 balls), 7 and 7
Louie – 12 (off 11 balls), 8, 7 and 7
Kieran – 17 (off 12 balls)
Joseph – 15 (off 19 balls)

Some notable bowling performances were:-
Gus – 1 for 3, 1 for 3, 1 for 8 and 0 for 1 (the 1 coming of the last ball of his 2 overs)
Noah – 2 for 3
Ben – 2 for 7, 1 for 3 and 1 for 10
Louie – 1 for 9, 1 for 10, 1 for 11 and 1 for 13
Tom – 1 for 6, 1 for 9, 1 for 10 and 1 for 20
Vincent – 1 for 6
Joseph – 1 for 7
Freddie – 1 for 6 and 1 for 18

Along with some great batting and bowling performances, there was also some great fielding displays. Such as Rivan’s catch, Tom’s caught and bowled and of course Joseph’s exceptional performance in the field against Gerrards Cross.
I’m truly grateful to have such a wonderful and enthusiastic group of children which made my job as coach so easy and thoroughly enjoyable.

I couldn’t be happier with how the season went and how all the children developed and improved. All of them worked really hard on their cricket and I can’t wait to get the 2022 season started.
Of course, none of this would happen without the help of the parents. I just want to say a huge thank you to all of the Mum’s and Dad’s that brought their children to training and to matches.
A special mention must go to Darren, Darren, Nick, Adam, John and Ian for helping me with running training sessions and matches. Without your help and support the kids would have missed out.
Thank you once again and I hope to see everyone soon.
Richard Parker
U7’s Coach
