The toss was won by High Wycombe who put us into bat. Notable contributions came from Youie Nichols with 11, opening the innings against some good opening bowlers. Lily Jones with 15, largely thanks to one blockbuster over where she dispatched the bowler for 3 boundaries, as well as trying to knock out her batting partner Sophia Davies with a head-butt. Last person to mention on the batting front top scorer and captain for the night Amelia Peck with 20, helped the team up to 316 runs losing 6 wickets. An all-round good bowling performance won us the game. The highest score High Wycombe ever had on the board was 221 and this was down to a great team spirit, always encouraging the bowler and backing her up in the field. Building pressure with the number of overs that just went for 1 or 2 runs, as well as a double wicket maiden from Daisy Lawless. The frequency at which we took wickets was also a telling factor, taking 10 wickets in total leaving High Wycombe on a total of 219. Result Chenies and Latimer win by 97 runs, well done everyone!
Special thanks to Ronald for managing the team. The game finished after 9pm in quite poor light. The late finish didn't stop the girls grabbing an ice cream to celebrate their success.
