Win for Chenies Girls!

Samson won the toss and put the Girls into bat. Archie bowled a great first over taking a wicket. The mighty Pecks took a couple of overs to get going, but crashed several boundaries in overs 3 and 4 to set the girls off to a good start. Captain and birthday girl Emily was then joined by Lucy at the crease. Runs were tougher to get with good tight bowling from Ayush. Evie and Daisy then pushed on the score, but the girls lost a couple of wickets in the process. Shashank taking a wicket with his first delivery! Sophia and Poppy scored well and played some good shots, before Lily and Caitlin finished off. Lots of extras aided the girls score, but they defended their wickets well.

The boys got off to a good start with Archie hitting a couple of boundaries. Unfortunately for the Boys, after that the Girls dominated. They bowled with great pace and accuracy. Lily, Emily, Louise, Caitlin and Daisy all took a couple of wickets each in their two over spells. The Boys really struggled to cope with the bowling and soon fell along way behind. They did well in the end to get to a positive score of 203, with Chris hitting a boundary off the last ball.

Lots of positives to take from the match. The bowling was excellent. Still need to work a bit on the running between the wickets as Caitlin and Lily proved when they managed to both be at the same end. Some how lily sprinted to the other end and stayed in!!

Well done to everyone for playing in such a good spirit. It was great to see.

I'm sure the Boys will come back stronger next year and give the Girls a run for their money.
