Chenies U11 Girls in Lady Taverners

The Chenies U11 Girls braved the heat putting on a dazzling display of brilliant cricket and underlying that, they exhibited tremendous team spirit! Every player competed in the field and at the crease giving the very best that they could to every ball. Catches were held, Wickets fell and the girls were hitting big Sixes and confident boundary Fours!
Lady Taverners is a Kwik 8 A-Side National Tournament. Buckinghamshire Cricket host this at Chesham Prep School.
Under the capable Captaincy of Louisa the team won both matches in their group against Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield Lightning. This placed the girls in the Final where they faced Beaconsfield Tournados.
The girls kept the same batting and bowling order throughout and the Final came down to the last ball....Alice faced and needed 1 for a draw and 2 to win, but it wasn’t a ball to be hit, so Runners Up and proud!
Some highlights include Chrissy hitting 3 Sixes in one Over and 6 Sixes altogether! Isabelle with a textbook Caught and Bowled! Brilliant sharp fielding from Xaynab preventing at least 3 boundaries. Two catches and a stumping for Louisa. A lovely Run Out for Alice in the same Over that Poppy took a fine catch. Four Wickets for Mia who showed just how to deliver line and length on every ball! Great calling by Jasmine creating some exciting singles!
