5. Senior Colts (U10-U19)

Senior colts (U10 and upward) play hard ball cricket. The Bucks County Board run league competitions at U10, U11, U13,U15,U17 and U19 and we have teams entered at all those age groups:

U11
Coach – Joe Banks
Assistant Coaches – Simon Hargreaves, Andy Bird
Joe has been coaching this year group for 5 years now. The squad have developed from the early days of soft ball to become a confident group of hard ball players with a range of skills and abilities. There’s a real camaraderie in the squad and the team spirit has been fantastic to see.
Joe is focussed on an inclusive coaching environment where everyone feels at home and are able to develop their skills in a safe, fun manner. The spirit of cricket is paramount and Joe is keen to ensure that the kids thrive in a respectful, positive environment where everyone feels welcomed.
Last season the team performed really well, winning a number of games and being involved in a few nail biting finishes. The whole squad played their part and everybody was able to enjoy being part of the matchday team. This year the squad is shaping up really well and we are entered in the South East league.
If you're interested in joining the U11s then please contact the club and come and try out with our age group. This season the Under 11’s train on Sundays between 09:00 – 10:30 hours at the club. Most matches are on Sundays too although we have a few mid-week.

U12
Coach - Raj Brar
Assistant Coaches - Daniel Knight, Shamir Patel, Darren Sear, Wasim Fazel

Raj began coaching at the club in 2015 and has been coaching the current U11s since they were 5 years old. Raj is a fully qualified ECB coach, a member of the Club Committee and plays an active role in coaching the U8s as well. Raj won the Buckinghamshire County Cricket Coach of the Year award in 2019 and was also runner-up as the ECB National Cricket Coach of the Year for non-first-class cricket in 2019. Raj is a firm believer in player centric coaching, developing and working with the different styles and attributes of each player rather than trying to conform to any fixed template.

Raj arranged a series of zoom sessions for the team with Owais Shah (ex-England batsman), Sajid Mahmood (ex-England fast bowler) and Ollie Robinson (current Kent wicket-keeper) to keep the team doing innovative training and maintain their learning curve during the covid related lockdown. Raj has also arranged regular team coaching, and additional 1-1 training sessions, with Owais Shah to assist player development.

The U12s have a long track record of excellence:

- As U7s they won the Marlow Big Bash in their first ever tournament and also reached the semi-finals of the Wooburn U8s tournament.
- As U8s they won the Wooburn U8 tournament and the Lions finished as runners up in the U9 League.
- As U9s the Lions won the Bucks U9 Premier Division to become county champions, won the Winchmore Hill U9 tournament (where they played our own Tigers teams in the final with both teams having won their group stages and semi-finals), and were runners-up in the Wooburn U10 tournament.
- As U10s the league season was abandoned due to covid, but 16 friendlies were played and the Lions teams maintained their long unbeaten record in their own age group.
- As U11s the Lions are playing in the U11 Premier Division and the Tigers are playing in the U11 South Central Championship.
- 3 of the Lions team are also in the Bucks County U11 squad.

The most important thing is always to ensure that all the children continue to love their cricket and love playing at the club. The U12s are blessed with a fantastic group of kids who have tremendous team spirit and camaraderie, and this has been essential to their success. The ambition for the Lions team is to maintain their record of having never lost a match in their own age group and become county champions again. The ambition for the Tigers team is to win the south central championship and continue to develop, with several of the Tigers pushing to play in the Lions team.

Whilst the U12s have had great success and consistency, there is always natural movement in the squad, with several families moving out of the area over the years, so there is always plenty of scope for new joiners.

If you are an accomplished U12 cricketer that would like to benefit from the highest quality coaching (including from ex England players) and be part of a champion Lions team that is looking to be county champions and compete nationally then please do get in touch with Raj Brar. Similarly, if you are a keen cricketer who would love to play with a great team of kids in the local leagues with the Tigers, and benefit from the access to great coaching as well, then also please do get in touch with Raj Brar via email or on 07740 861237

U14
Coach -Ravi Chauhan
Assistant Coach - Mattie Brown

Ravi began coaching in 2012 almost immediately after moving into Little Chalfont with his family in December 2011. He has been with the current U13 squad throughout their time in the colts since they were 5 yrs old. Ravi is a qualified ECB coach. His proudest achievement as a coach is being able to hit a boundary off any of his squad’s deliveries – unfortunately this has only happened once so far but he remains resolutely confident of greater success in 2021.

2021 Training: Mondays 5.00-6.30pm

The U13s squad at C&LCC is arguably the finest such squad in the county! Renowned for our commitment and humour on and off the pitch, the group is a mixed ability group comprising children living in and around the local area going to schools in the Amersham, Chorleywood and Little Chalfont areas amongst others. We place emphasis on fun, inclusivity and team spirit. Significant strides have been made over the past two seasons with the team having secured a string of wins against local rival clubs with a highlight being runners up in the competitive Holmer Green tournament.

Our 2021 season will see us build on the significant progress made since 2019 with a focus on securing our bowling and batting attacks and establishing a commanding fielding presence exploiting the energy and talents of the full squad.

Monday evening training sessions are always well attended allowing for ample time to drill home technique within a safe and controlled environment. Fixtures typically take place on Thursdays or Sundays with selections made based on the three “As;” attendance, attitude and ability!

We are always welcoming new players so please do not hesitate to contact Ravi Chauhan [here] to bring your child over for a free taster session.
